A little more on our life.

This is a picture from the golden horn just before the our stop. The white church in you see is called, Church Of St Stephen Of The Bulgars, it is made completely of cast iron! Strange, and very cool. It was shipped here in pieces in 1871. It came from Vienna across the Black Sea on 100 barges.

The red building is the Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarchate, it has been located in this district since 1601.

I don't actually know which mosque that is in the background but there are so very many of them.

This picture is what we see when we come home by boat, our stop in Fener.

This is how we get on and off the boats, they just pull the boat up and we climb up, sometimes the the boat is lined up with the steps and sometimes not. Of course there are bigger ferries that have gang planks to cross, and people just jump over the gap all the time! This is very scary because the boats that have gang planks are so big that if you fell in the gap between the boat and the dock....well that could quickly be your end.

This is a picture from the top of the house we stay at, a nice night view, you can see Church Of St Stephen Of The Bulgars clearly.

And this is just a nice pic that we took while sitting along the shore of the golden horn.

Every morning we here men yelling from the street. Sometimes they are men pushing carts filled with fruit, or vegetables. Sometimes they are men with carts filled with buckets and mops and other household items. Really anything one might want to buy will pass by the front of the house with a man yelling out what he has to sell and how much it is. They stop every other block or so to give you a chance to come out and take a look, then they move on. A few days ago I just opened our front door and bought some fruit! In some ways it is very cool, however when we are trying to sleep and they are outside our house yelling at 8-9am sometimes we want to throw things at them.

I will start training at my second job tomorrow, I will work them both for about a month and a half then pick the one that I like best. Not bad, it feels good to have options. Life is going well and we feel quite lucky.
